Wow what an adventure! On my birthday this year I flew 5274miles from Laguna Beach to a little peninsula called Wirral which sits between the City of Liverpool and the country of Wales in the United Kingdom. The less said about the flight the better! But it was a good indicator to just how much God was going to use this adventure to stretch, test and grow me! Ministry started straight away, with a short interlude of my beautiful God-daughter Mandy’s wedding to my new spiritual son Lee.
As Mandy and Lee whisked themselves away on honeymoon, I had meetings booked for the first week with new friends and family which included ad hoc ministry sessions as and when Holy Sprit prompted. The week also included some last minute shopping trips for some summery clothes! I left the heatwave of California expecting the usual English weather I had come to expect from my previous trips of rain, cold and wind so had packed all my warmest clothes. Only to find they had decided to have their own heatwave in the 80°F range. But don’t worry shopping didn’t slow the Spirit, even in Starbucks we continued ministry! God is always with us!
The end of the week brought ‘Shekinah’ which is an unbelievably beautiful, converted farm in stunning countryside now entirely devoted to Christian retreats. Mandy had booked out the place with 19 women for a weekend of inner healing and deliverance, good conversations, tea, coffee and homecooked food. Wow did I not know what was coming! We started with worship… then I gave my testimony and we prayed and worshiped before bed.
Saturday morning started with a prayer meeting, a good hearty breakfast and our first session of the day. Worship to begin and some more testimony and background of what I was all about then Holy Spirit picked out a woman to begin with. Boom we were off; our beautiful sister was a picture of the leper in Matthew 8 v2 – kneeling before the Lord and asking if He was willing would He cleanse her. Deep, deep healing took place, deliverance, and cleansing. The sisters watched, learned, supported, encouraged, and followed Holy Spirit’s lead as layer after layer of inner healing took place, and spiritual warfare as we went after the demonic spirits who had invaded her space for years.
That took us up to lunch time, where another hearty meal was served to us by the wonderful gentle Christian staff. The afternoon brought more ministry, breaking strongholds, and fusing parts back into the core. God is so good and had His way over and over. The ladies were hungry for this ministry and eager to learn. I have made lots of beautiful connections with wonderful sisters and even discovered a new Spiritual Momma. At one point I found myself being prayed for by some of the more discerning ladies who recognised I needed a little space and ministry for myself. I was truly humbled and amazed by what God was doing.
More glorious food and the evening session. Holy Spirit gently led me around the room to lady after lady as he ushered in his peace and drew out some long-held pain and hurt. It is such an honour to partner with Jesus in this ministry. To see Him set captives free and watch as faces transform, overwhelmed by his beautiful presence.
The Sunday morning was led by a dear sister in Christ as we leaned further into God’s stunning presence. I was so blessed. A huge roast dinner later and lots of exchanging contact details before we left the beautiful place on the hill to journey home.
But we only got the evening off as the very next day our 3-day conference started. Held at a venue called ‘The Meeting Place’. We started with a time of worship, some of my old favourites, which is always a pleasure to learn back into and prepare us for the day. Then on to testimony, some of mine, some from my beautiful God-daughter Mandy and a new God-daughter I was getting to know, Ruth, who I had ministered to the week before.
There were a lot more people at this venue, from rather different walks of life, pastors, businessmen and a young man who lived in a tent in the local park. Not everyone was Christian and not everyone understood or embraced the ministry at first, which made for some interesting spiritual warfare over the 3 days. However, we saw many breakthroughs, inner healing abounded, demons were thrown out, manifestations where bound and some deep trauma was drawn up and out in really refreshing ways. The stories there are too many to mention all of them, but I will share some favourites.
One man came in from the streets, unsaved, just wanted to talk to his friend the Pastor. He saw the team ministering to someone else and he realised he wanted whatever ‘that’ was. Mandy and I went over to speak to him and realised God had breakthrough for this guy so we called people over to minister with him. He is long term profoundly deaf in one ear, but his other ear gets clogged up with wax which reduces his hearing to almost nothing, which he was then struggling with. He said “the wax won’t go without medical intervention”, and so he is deaf while he waits. This session was pretty loud in order to communicate with him. First, we asked if he wanted to know the Lord, Jesus, and he agreed and happily received Jesus. Hallelujah, we welcomed another brother! Then we ministered to him, some inner healing, and a bunch of deliverance. After we prayed for his healing and really pressed in on this, singing over him, praying, laying hands whilst also trying to be sensitive to the loud shock he would get if he suddenly could hear. As our dear Lord taught us in Mark 7 v 33.
Someone had a prophetic word that his healing would come while he slept and asked him to come back the next day to testify to the healing. The guy left, happy with his new status in Christ and trusting in the inner healing and deliverance.
The next day, while we were ministering to another person, the deaf guy returned and quietly waited till we approached him. He then gave testimony that his blocked ear had been totally healed and he could now hear through it completely, which he assured us cannot happen without medical intervention. Praise God! He also testified that his anger, which usually flared up, had also gone and told us of a difficult situation where his ex-partner had left him for someone else and taken his son. That morning he had spoken to the ex-partner calmly and wished her well and even spoke to the new man and blessed him, asking that they work together to give his son the best life. He couldn’t believe this was true of himself as his usual response would have been rage.
Praise God for His hand on this man’s life and for bringing him in off the street that day, anointed and appointed for a date with Jesus.
We ministered to many while there and taught and demonstrated as we went. One was a sweet family of mum and daughter and at the last minute they convinced the dad to come. All 3 where ministered to, breakthrough happened, and they each forgave each other, cried, and hugged with healing in their hearts.
Meanwhile as this conference was happening, unbeknownst to me God was answering my prayers on the vision he gave me for a UK team. Whilst ministering with Mandy, a team was forming that included Mandy’s new husband (and my new spiritual son) Lee, my new God-daughter, Ruth, and a man call Steve who walks, talks, and sleeps the gospel. Between the 4 of us, over the 3-day conference, it became clear each was stepping up, stepping into their God given authority, watching my back, communicating with me and with each other, engaging in spiritual warfare on behalf of the ministry and pulling together as a team. We went out for a meal and chatted about what a UK team might look like and what might be involved. I was overwhelmed at their hunger and enthusiasm and am humbled at how they have already started meeting weekly to learn, practice and grow in this ministry.
After the conference I met with people privately for follow-up sessions, and was excited to see the breakthroughs continue. I knew God had plans for bringing Lions Light International to the UK, I wasn’t expecting to see the hunger that is there. Already we are making plans for me to return to the UK, hopefully on a regular basis, if God wills it and we can raise the funds.
Since my return I have had five UK people requesting Zoom meetings for ministry and others in the pipeline. This ministry is on the move, and I cannot thank you enough for enabling us to go out to the UK in the first place. You made all this happen. And I would humbly like to ask if you would consider partnering with us again to extend God’s kingdom and this inner healing and deliverance ministry further into the UK and potentially Europe after that.
